20 Months

It is so hard to believe that I am 20 months old now. I mean, it feels like I should be so much older. I have been alive - well, practically my whole life! There are so many things I love to do. One is to sing and dance to music. I also love animals - especially our 2 pets, Mindy and Blacky. It turns out that Mindy is starting to like me a little bit more, but she is still persnickety. Mommy says it's because she's a crotchety old lady, disguised as a cat. Of course, Mommy also says that if she keeps up with her cranky attitude, she just might lose her first digits. OUCH! I think I'd straighten up if I were her. I am also learning my ABCs. I don't speak real well yet, so sometimes it is easier for me to say the sound the letter makes instead of the letter name. But, I am learning. Mommy and Daddy say that I seem to be learning just as quickly as Sissy - I just don't talk as much - but then again, who does? Geesh.

Here is a video clip of me showing off. There is also a little clip that shows how super adorable and sweet I am to our cat and how mean she is to me. I'm such a victim!

Still Sick

Yes, you read that right - our family is still sick. Dad is feeling much better and I am a little bit better (my belly still hurts and I have a yucky cough), but now Mom and E2 are not feeling so well. There was still a lot of activity in the middle of the night. I accidentally woke E2 up a couple of times when I couldn't stop coughing and one time Mom came in and got E2 for a bit. She must have had a fever and needed medicine. Mom said Dad took good care of her, too. I guess she had a fever like the rest of us.

I'll tell you what - Mom seems mad. Mad at these viruses. She said she she is going to start bleaching everyting we touch and washing our sheets daily. She is determined to not be sick any more - and I can't blame her. I am sick of being sick, too.

I hope you are able to stay healthy. Remember - vitamins, water and rest - and a little prayer doesn't hurt either, since we all know Who is really in control. Our job is just to be thankful. Sometimes, that's really hard to do.

Feels like spring

We had such a lovely day playing outside yesterday! God brought us just a sneak peek of spring, and we soaked it up! I’m not sure if it helped or hurt, though. It might make it even harder if it turns cold again – and you know we are supposed to be thankful or ALL things. That’s tough! It’s especially tough to be thankful for yet another virus that is attacking my body. I think I must have taken the virus from Daddy (you know he is feeling better and now I am sick). I’m hoping to pass it off to Mommy so that I can feel better. I heard her cough in the kitchen, so I think my plan is working.

Oh, back to the lovely spring day. We just played on the deck because Mom said it was probably too muddy in the yard. She shoveled off the last of the snow / ice and we had such a fun time playing. We blew bubbles and playing the recorder for everyone to enjoy (I’m pretty good if I do say so myself). Here are some pictures of us enjoying the sunshine and warmer temps. XOXO E1

Even Blacky decided to come out of hibernation to enjoy the warmer weather! Now THAT'S a miracle!

Valentine's Day

We had such a great a great Valentine’s Day – did you? It started a little early for our family – at least the girls, Daddy is sick. Poor Daddy. On Sunday, right after church, we made a bunch of Valentines to take to the nursing home. Our friends made some to donate as well, but they weren’t able to join us. After we made a whole bunch of Valentines we went to the nursing home to share the love of Jesus with the people who live there. It was so wonderful! Some of the people were a little shy, but some were too happy to hide their feelings. They wanted kisses and hugs. There were a couple of older women that probably really missed their grandkids because they really wanted to snuggle close.  One of the older gentlemen was so proud of the valentine, that he put it right up on his door. Then, when we were further down the hallway, he came up and gave both me and E2 a dollar – EACH! Mom tried to give it back to him and said that wasn’t why we were there, but he insisted she take it home and put it in our piggy banks. You know the kicker for that? E2 doesn’t have a piggy bank yet, so the money’s all in mine – ha ha!!

Then on the actual Valentine’s day, I woke up to a handmade card from Mommy, some new nail polish and some sweetheart candies. Fantastic! It was so special that I told Mom that I’d love her forever and ever if she promised not to throw the card away. She put it in my ‘special box’ for safe keeping. For dessert that night, she even made a heart shaped apple / berry crisp a la mode. DEE-licious!! Daddy even had a few surprises for us. He got me some Twizzlers and a card and E2 got a new duckie for the bath. Then we settled in and watched the movie UP. Mom suggested it since it is about love. We laughed and laughed!

What a great day! We are so lucky to have a Dad and Mom who love us so much!
XOXO

Ice, Ice Baby!

Wow - there is a lot of ice outside today. Thankfully, God is in control and so far, He has kept our power on. Mom and Dad are a little nervous about it. I am too now that I realize I won't be able to play Wii without power. Please keep our power on, please.

But, the ice is good for one thing...sledding! We have already been out twice today. Poor E2 wants to keep coming out, but she hates the ice coming down in her face (not to mention the snot that freezes on her nose). Her little cheeks stay red for a long time after we are inside. But she still cries to go back outside.

Here is a video of me and Dad going down the hill. Mom says I look like a penguin when I put my feet out to "push" us farther.

We pray that you are staying warm, inside and that your power stays on.

Love to all
