Notables

Ok, it's the Mom here - guest posting on the girls' blog. I know, kind of unheard of, eh? But I wanted to write down a couple of notable things that you might find interesting / humorous.

Conversation between Mom and E1 while putting birthdays on a calendar:
Mom: You can put Grandma Pollard's birthday on there - it's July 26th.
E1: What is her first name?
Mom: Um, you don't write down her first name. You can put "Gma P" if you want to shorten it.
E1: Really, what is her first name?
Mom: Donetta
E1: Mom, when I was a baby, why didn't you name me something as beautiful as Grandma Pollard's first name?
Mom: You don't like your name?
E1: (with a gleam in her eye) Yes, but it isn't as fancy as Donetta.

If you think about it, send up a little prayer for E2. It seems as if she has had a reaction to the MMR vaccination she received on Monday and has hives. This is day #2 and unfortunately, they say it can last up to 6 weeks.

E2 received an alphabet puzzle for her birthday. She knows her letters already, but she struggled with putting them back in the right place. There is a picture underneath, but she didn't really know what the pictures were (like "vine" for "V"). But, with the encouragment and help of her big Sissy - she is now an expert (well, with all except the "A" which is missing). The funny thing to note is that she has a big temptation to put the letters in her mouth. Now, I don't necessarily catch her chewing on them - but I find them in the sink (which is I have her put any toy she puts in her mouth so that I can wash them).

Bubble Fun

Bubbles are just plain fun. It turns out that E2 loves them just as much as I do. Here are some pictures of us playing bubble guns with Grandpa and Grandma Siefker. It was also a great day for being outside and roasting hot dogs! You know what's even more fun than bubbles? Grandparents. I am SO SUPER DUPER OOPER SCHMOOPER lucky to have 4 fantastic Grandparents! I hope they know how much I love them. ((hugs)) E1

Grandpa and Corby - like 2 peas in a pod. :0)

VBS

If I were 3, VBS might be super fantastic. I hear Sissy talking about all sorts of super cool things. We sing all the fun songs at home, but then I miss out on the fun singing at church with all the big kids. She gets a snack, game time, craft time, and even some super fun teaching about the most important person who ever lived (surely you know who THAT is -- a big hint is His name starts with a "J" and ends with "esus").  But instead of super fun stuff, I'm stuck in the room with the babies. And, something is really messed up with the days. I am waking up at the same time, and I go to bed when it starts to get dark, but the days seem SOOOOOO long! I just don't get it. I feel sleepy, but I am still at church and it is still light. I'm so confused. Mom said it is something about saving time, but I can't figure out what we're saving it for.

Anyway, here are some fun pictures (and here is a link to the video) of what Sissy is doing at VBS.

Here is how super cool our church sanctuary looks.

This is the storefront in the foyer.

This is ME as a cowboy.

And here is Sissy as a cowboy.
Here is Sissy with all her "harmonica" friends.

And here they are playing duck, duck, goose - or cowboy, cowboy, donkey

Fancy stuff

Fancy - I love to dress fancy. Mom does a pretty good job of putting me in a pretty dress, but I have to put the finishing touches on the outfit with a nice summer hat and a pair of Mom's shoes. Yes ma'am, I'm stylin' (if I do say so myself). Now I'm all ready for church.

((hugs)) E2
