Flooring installed!

The flooring has been installed - woot woot!! This is a view from E1's old bedroom (now our office / homeschool room) into the hallway.

Chandelier

My Mom bought a chandelier that came out of someone else's house. I wasn't sure this was a good idea. It didn't look very fancy when she opened the box and showed it to me. But, she painted and decorated it and it looks very fancy now! I should have known when I saw crystal beads and pink ribbon that it would turn out perfect for a girl like me (and E2, too). Check out the before and after pictures. I haven't actually seen it in my new room because we are waiting until it is almost finished before I look inside. I want to be wow'd and surprised. Since we are getting carpet soon, it shouldn't be much longer. :)

Misc Pictures

Just some random pictures of my silly baby sister. Just look at her. This is one of her favorite things to do now. Empty out all the toys in the tub and then play in the tub. She is so silly. She's not wearing any pants here because she got banana all over them at dinner. She likes to smoosh her food up and play with it. Sometimes she even smears it in her hair - eeeewwwww!!!

Here she is in her new cube chair - it's awesome! The only thing wrong with it is that Dad and Mom only bought one, so there isn't one for me. boo!

What's This?

 I have been learning that there are names for all different parts of our bodies – and I knew I had a belly, but there is something ON IT! What IS that down there? I can’t quite bend over far enough to actually see it….whoa! I nearly did a flip that time. Good thing I’ve got fancy feet and am quick on my toes. I about lost it. Whew. Now let me sit down and see if I can get a better view that way. Nope. My belly just pushes out even farther. Maybe if I suck in and tighten my abs – you know, like Mommy does when she’s trying to fit into that pair of jeans that just came out of the dryer (and after she just ate a pound of candy corn). Yep, that did it. Why, it’s a little button – at least that’s what Mommy called it. A belly button. I wonder what it does if I push it? or maybe pull it? Hmmm – not much of anything. I think it’s defective. Even if it doesn’t do much of anything, I still am amazed by it. God sure did make our bodies interesting….  ((hugs)) E2

I have fun too

Just because Sissy gets to leave and do fun things like meet Sid the Science Kid doesn't mean I'm not having fun. I have lots of fun. I am getting really good at climbing and running and rolling. I can almost do a somersault all by myself  now! I still kind of go sideways, but I'll get it soon enough. You know what I'm really good at? Dancing. That's right - I've got rhythm! Here is a video of some dancing and it ends with an assisted somersault. You'll see - now that it's on youtube,
they'll be calling me from America's Got Talent soon enough.

Conner Prairie Country Fair

We had such a fun time at Conner Prairie today, even though we didn't stay very long. I got a chance to try a sack race (Click here for video) and even meet Sid the Science Kid. It was great! But H-O-T, hot! Mom said we can go back another time and visit the prairie some other time when it is less crowded and cooler. I also got to try spitting a watermelon seed. I had to take a second look at Mom on that one because spitting a seed out doesn't sound like something she'd let me do.

But, it was a nice break from the otherwise boring weekend. Mom and Dad have been busy painting, painting and more painting, so I have had to play alone. Ho hum.

Drywall is hung...

The drywall is hung and should be taped and mudded tomorrow -- Woohoo!!

End of the week update

It is the end of a long, long week - oh wait, it was supposed to be a short week, but it has felt sooooo long! It turns out my Mom doesn't think I needed to have a day off of school, so she crammed all the work and fun into the same week. I sure hope this weekend is a little more restful. Anyway, it looks like our new room is coming right along, although not as quickly as I (or Mom) was anticipating. The brick looks great, but it sure took a lot of days of waiting to get the insulation done on the inside. But, we can trust that in all things, God is in control. The inspections passed today and Mom said they will start dry walling on Monday (I guess that is good since I wouldn't want wet walls). So all we have left before the next inpsection is drywall, finish the electric, finish the insulation and prime the walls -- oh and a handrail for down the basement stairs. So maybe by the end of next week we'll be ready for paint? A girl can dream, can't she?
